Swan Lake Overlook is a gorgeous wedding venue on 200+ acres of exotic deer farm in Dawsonville, Georgia.
This North Georgia mountain stunner is 45 minutes north of Atlanta, in a location that quickly whisks you away into the quiet country mountains.
We love this venue, and asked Mechelle, Owner of Swan Lake Overlook, a few questions to help prospective couples learn how to plan their wedding day to the backdrop of sika and fallow deer, alpacas, emus, donkeys, and horses.

TELL US ABOUT THE VENUE:
“We love the mountains and the peacefulness out here in the country.
The Swan Lake Overview property is set on family land that we inherited several years ago. A family member started the dream of opening a wedding venue and we’ve inherited it with an updated style we hope couples will love.
A relative had the dream of starting a wedding venue before us, but he sadly passed away before Swan Lake Overlook was complete. I continued with the plans, but tweaked them to fit a style more my own and modernize the venue.”
TELL US ABOUT THE VENUE (CONTINUED):
“Swan Lake Overlook has three gorgeous options for any ceremony style: a hilltop with a view of the rolling hills, the intimate patio, or inside the ballroom.”
HOW MANY GUESTS CAN THE VENUE HOST?
“Swan Lake Overlook has plenty of space for couples and 300 of their closest friends and family.
We’re really pleased that the space feels full with 100 people or up to 300. It can adjust to the couple’s needs.”
WE NAME OUR FAVORITE PIECES OF FURNITURE - CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT THE WILDLIFE ON THE PROPERTY AND IF ANY ANIMALS HAVE BEEN NAMED?
“The Emu's are the most active around people - their names are Henrietta and Marietta.
The Fallow deer originated in Europe and the Middle East and the Sika deer originated in Asia.
We board the horses, so they do not belong to us, but they all have names and definite personalities. Peek-a-Boo is a draft horse and he just wanders around - never in a hurry. Then there is Lady, JoJo, Whisper, Casper, Bucky and the newest addition is Cheyenne.
You can certainly add some fury friends to your photos.”
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU SHARE TO BRIDES AND GROOMS PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?
“The venue will be the back drop to all of your wedding photos and memories - choose one that is your style and fits the vision you have for your wedding day!”
This venue is perfect for couples who want a romantic, storybook wedding set in a beautiful woodland setting.
It’s all the best parts of princess dreams with Snow White’s animal friendships and Cinderella’s exquisite ball.
We highly recommend it for couples who love a natural environment, don’t mind a few emu wedding photo bombs, and want to take in the beauty of the North Georgia mountains.
