Nilsa Prowant's 7 Wedding Day Must-Haves

Nilsa Prowant from MTV’s Floribama Shore worked with our team to create her dream wedding day.

As a recent bride, we asked Nilsa to share her wedding day must-haves and ideas for those getting married this year.

Nilsa is sharing 7 tips for brides-to-be to help make their wedding day breezy!

Nilsa Prowant’s 7 Wedding Day Must-haves That Will Keep Your Day Easy, Fun, and Unforgettable:

1. A SCAN-TO-GIVE QR CODE TO FUND YOUR HONEYMOON DREAMS

“An easy way to rake in the honeymoon $$$ is to put signs out around the reception area with a QR code to you or your spouse’s Venmo account.

Look, people are partying and having a good time…why not give them a chance to thank you for all the fun while they’re feeling good? (Also, who even carries cash anymore?)

‘Scan this code to help us do something fun on our honeymoon!’

We’re so glad we did this!”

2. CREATE A PHONE BACKGROUND TIMELINE FOR YOUR WEDDING PARTY

“There’s SO much to know and keep track of on the big day. We kept our wedding day running smoothly with these 2 things:

1 - Day-of timeline lock screen (pictured)

This was a game-changer for keeping everyone where they needed to be at all times! Just make it the background on your phone and you’ll always know where to go. And you’ll ever lose it.

2 - Two WEDDING DAY Group chats

Set up a group chat with the wedding planner and bridesmaids and a chat with the wedding planner and groomsmen so everyone has a place to ask questions and communicate.

This keeps everyone on the same page and gives everyone no excuses to be late for anything important.”

3. PICK A “LAST TASK” AND TURN OFF ALL WEDDING PLANNING & PROBLEM-SOLVING

“I encourage all brides to pick a ‘last task’ a few days before the wedding that marks the end of planning and the beginning of PARTYING.

It was so important to me to have a clear transition from planning to enjoying all the pretty details and beautiful moments of my own wedding.

After your last task, pick a trusted friend or family member that can answer anyone who may come calling for you with questions about the big day. Your only job at your wedding is to have the best day of your life.

at some point, you’ll have to quit prepping and start partying.”

4. OWN THE HELL OUT OF A RECEPTION WARDROBE CHANGE

“I’ve noticed a trend in brides changing into a shorter or more comfortable dress for the reception and I’m so on board. I changed into a short dress and sandals for the dance floor and never looked back.

Y’all, it’s hard to dance in a wedding dress.

change into your party clothes! I loved having a dress and shoes I felt more comfortable dancing in.”

5. THANK YOURSELF FOR GIVING A FRIEND YOUR PHONE FOR SOME OF THE WEDDING DAY

“Find a time during the wedding to give your phone to one of your bridesmaids so you have photos and videos to see the next day.

You’ll love seeing unexpected photos of you loving life, guests having the best time ever, and little moments you may never see. Plus, you’ll get to see them THAT NIGHT.

It typically takes several weeks to get your wedding gallery, so assign a friend to be your phone photographer and you’ll have special photos and videos beforehand to cherish and share!”

6. PUSH YOUR WEDDING GUESTS OUT OF THEIR COMFORT ZONE - PHOTO BOOTH HACK

“When people can see themselves and others posing, they’re more likely to have fun and act crazy because they feel confident and see others raising the bar.

Use a mirror photo booth to get the photos you want and help your guests feel confident.

The point of a photo booth at the reception is to get as many people as possible going wild. Be sure it’s set up in a way that gets the most out of people - a mirror that allows everyone posing to see themselves changes the game.

get the photo booth photos you WILL LOVE FOREVER!”

7. SPLURGE ON WHAT’S IMPORTANT TO YOU

“Think about it…your wedding is your perfect party, so go all out for the things that are most important to you!

If you want to party the night away, save extra room in the budget for alcohol (obvi), music, and reception decor + florals. If your priority is the ceremony, then focus your budget on big floral arrangements and seating.

IT’S YOUR PARTY, YOU CAN SPLURGE IF YOU WANT TO!”

Nilsa’s #1 Piece of Wedding Day Advice for Brides-to-Be

“It’s ultimately your day. Make it you.

The must-have ideas on my list may be different than yours. The most important thing to me was everyone knew where to be, everyone had the best time, and we had a day we will always remember as the happiest day of our lives.

Remember: YOU are the bride. It’s YOUR wedding. Your wedding day team works for you and you better put them to work to create the day of your dreams.

I loved every detail and moment of our wedding day…but it took work to make it perfect, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

xoxo
