When was the last time you took family photos?
Was it a constant battle to keep everyone’s attention?
Did you leave wanting to pull your hair out and wondering why you paid money so your kids could have a public meltdown?
Cool, us too.
Life moves quickly, we have to capture it. But let’s face it, taking family photos is hard!!!
Parents, there is a way to get the photos you want...without the meltdowns 🙌
Mini family sessions capture life in a studio environment in a quick 15-20 minutes so you can get the photos you want without the fight.
We want to introduce you to the talented photographers who shot our last studio session for Mother’s Day and whose photos will hang on the walls of countless homes for years to come, Kleppe Photography and Sarah Bradley Photography.

Be the first to know about how we’re partnering together for Christmas🎄 (You’ll want to be in on this…)
“I always hope families can look at the photos from our session and, just for a second, smile and remember the love of their family no matter what’s going on in their lives.”
- Sarah, Sarah Bradley Photography
“I love being a family photographer because I get to capture all the stages in a family’s life!
There are families that I have taken newborn pictures for and then every year after, so I get to see their families grow and add new little additions.”
- Kristen, Kleppe Photography
What's your favorite thing about capturing families?
“I love capturing families in raw, natural moments, when they’re not looking at the camera.
Maybe the parents are trying to make the kids smile, or they're all laughing, the kids are running around like crazy - those make for the best photos.”
- Sarah, Sarah Bradley Photography
What advice do you have for families struggling to think about poses, color coordination, and locations?
“I try to tell everyone to relax and be yourself as much as possible. Posing can be important, but I like to see what they do initially when I just tell them to get close to each other.
How would a wife grab her husband's arm if she just did it without me giving instruction?
Of course, if something looks off, I will point them in the right direction, but I like to see how families naturally interact first because it shows their personalities through the images.
Location is something that I actually love to scope out. It's not always going to be this stunning park that you just walk up to and say ‘wow!’ Some of the best sessions can be on the side of the road where you just like how the trees aline or something really pretty growing that just makes for an amazing picture.”
- Kristen, Kleppe Photography
Why is it important to invest in photos of your family?
“To remember and capture each phase of your child!
Even the terrible two's where they might be crying in every photo. You want to remember it all!
Parents are usually the ones taking pictures on their phones, so it's so special to have someone else take the photos so they can be in the pictures and relax for once.”
- Sarah, Sarah Bradley Photography
What's the best/funniest/weirdest way to get children to cooperate and smile?
“For some reason I always act like a dog.
I don't know why I do this, but kids love dogs and it works!”
- Sarah, Sarah Bradley Photography
“If someone could come with me to the session and video how we act to get the kids’ attention, we would have some epic videos.
The jumping up and down and acting out certain things. THE NOISES! Trying to make weird noises to get their attention can be comical for little ones.
Depending on the age of the children, it differs and I do ask parents sometimes what makes their kids laugh the most just to break it out at any point during the session.”
- kristen, Kleppe Photography
“I know families sometimes want that one picture that everyone is looking and smiling their best, but those other little moments that aren't staged usually turn out to be the best photos from a session!
Everyone has different stages and they aren't always the best, but sometimes those are the sweetest. I love capturing families in the moment.
Maybe how the child clung to the mom’s leg the entire session or wouldn't pick their head up off of dad's shoulder. Those are the memories that families are going to miss. ”
