The Bloom Room @ Miss Milly’s adds a deep layer of heart to the business as Patti leads the team in floral designs.
As a little girl, Patti used to sit on the basement steps of her Uncle Pat’s home for hours watching him prepare holiday arrangements for his floral shop in western New York.
“I can still smell the flowers,” she says.
It’s no coincidence that she would later follow in the footsteps of her namesake.
“I used to say to myself, ‘I will never do flowers,’ but what can I say… it’s been imprinted on me since childhood.”
Patti has a rich floral history on both sides of her family, many childhood memories ushered back in by the smell of a simple peony or a stroll through a greenhouse.
After traveling the country designing floral arrangements for various showrooms, she moved to Atlanta in the 80’s and began working as a wedding florist.
Every event we get to work on together just became that much more beautiful.
“Creating a floral arrangement is like painting a piece of art. I love starting with a blank canvas and seeing all the possibilities unfold.”

It’s easy to think of a florist’s home full of large, vibrant arrangements, Patti thrives on simplicity.
Her house is typically adorned with single peonies or roses in small vases.
“My late cousin, Paul, was a successful florist in D.C. Before he passed, he gave me a little bud vase (pictured here) and whenever I have a special flower that’s left from an event or is just particularly striking, it always goes in there.”
Patti brings her sharp eye for all things pretty and vast floral expertise to The Bloom Room @ Miss Milly’s as the perfect addition to a team that collectively strives for the same simple goal: to make every event beautiful.
